In 1980 Bibi Blocksberg’s initial success story started: The children’s book author Elfie Donnelly presented the hör+lies Publishing Company, now KIDDINX, the first storyteller with the friendly little witch. With its own Bibi Blocksberg production, the publisher expanded the publishing company’s children’s program and developed a strong identification figure for children from the ages of four to ten years old. She is a modern girl with exceptional talents and a cheerful and good-natured personality.

In 1985 the first book titles with the little witch were published by the Pestalozzi Publishing Company: „Witches do Exist” and „A Holiday to Remember”. Her books have remained popular up to today and they have been published by various publishing companies and in various languages.

In 1988 Elfie Donnelly transferred the rights to Bibi Blocksberg to the hör+lies Publishing Company. From then on the stories for the storytellers were written by Ulli Herzog, the director of all the KIDDINX-Storytellers, in the style of Elfie Donnelly. After his sudden death in March 2003, an author and editing team took over the writing of new episodes.

In 1992 the first monthly Bibi Blocksberg Magazine appeared that till today still ranks among the best known German speaking magazines for girls.

In 1994 the first animated episode „Witches do Exist” was released on video.

In 1997 the animated Bibi episodes were shown on Premiere and since then have also been rebroadcast on ZDF and on KI.KA at regular intervals.

In 2000 Bibi Blocksberg also flew on her broom on to the computer screens and immediately reached the top of CD-ROM-Charts with „In Search of the Super Magic Spell“ . In the same year the little witch got her own web page. On www.bibiblocksberg.de you’ll find great games, bewitched puzzles and lots more.

In 2001 the first Game Boy Color with Bibi Blocksberg „Under the Spell of the Witch’s Ball” was available in the shops.

In 2002 in September the first live action Bibi-Blocksberg feature film was released in the cinema. With more than 2.2 million viewers, it was the most successful German feature film that year.

In 2003 the first Bibi Blocksberg musical had its premiere in Germany. It is the most successful children’s musical in Germany to date.

In 2004 with her second major feature film „Bibi Blocksberg and the Secret of the Blue Owls”, Bibi magiced herself again into the cinema and delighted more than 1.2 million viewers.

In 2005 Bibi Blocksberg celebrated 25 years of „Wiz-wiz!“ with a strong campaign, great anniversary products and a whole lot of witchcraft fun. New Bibinxe became available for all her fans, funny, animated Bibi-Blocksberg-pictures in the internet that could be collected and swapped. Further animated episodes were going into production.

December 2006: the season of the first Bibi-Blocksberg-Musical was extended to December due to it being permanently sold out. All 26 episodes of the Bibi Blocksberg animated series were successfully broadcast on ZDF and on KI.KA. In addition the series has been sold to 66 countries.

2007 The premiere of the second musical „Bibi Blocksberg and the Bewitched Treasure“ was successful.
