Children today need fairy tales from today: exciting and educative stories that are non-violent and fantastic tales that simultaneously offer identification possibilities for young children. Values like helpfulness, friendship, team spirit always take priority. This is the foundation on which the adventures of the speaking elephant, Benjamin the elephant are built.

94 % of all the children in the target group 6 to 14 year olds (iconkids & youth 2004) know and love his characteristic »Torooo«! In 1986 Benjamin the elephant’s license success story began as the classical license product in German nurseries.

In 1977 the first storyteller adventure was released on audio cassette and up till today more than 100 episodes have been produced selling more that 60 million copies. More than 15 million children’s books have also been sold, the Benjamin the elephant-Magazine published by the Egmont Ehapa Publishing Company is among pre-school magazines with the highest circulation in German and since 1996 more than 13 Million »Torooo-cakes” have been sold by the bakery Coppenrath & Wiese.

At the beginning of the nineties, the ZDF broadcast the adventures of Benjamin the elephant for the first time, which since then have ensured regular high viewing figures.

Since 2000 Benjamin the elephant has had his own homepage on the internet: www.benjaminbluemchen.de.

For the international market, 52 new TV-animation episodes of 26 minutes each were produced and which had their world premiere in March 2002 on Super RTL, the most successful German children’s network. The series reached a market share of up to 34 % which has not been topped by competing series up till now.
The international TV and video rights have been sold world-wide to more than 70 counties, e.g. Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Norway, Poland, Hungary, Czek Republic and Slovenia.

In the year 2007 Benjamin the elephant celebrated his 30th birthday. From May to September 2007 his fans could experience him live on the TOGGO-Tour.
